All server instances and related resources, such as Public IP addresses (aka OpenStack Floating IPs), are billed from the moment the resource is created until it is deleted from the platform. This means that costs are incurred regardless of whether the server is actively running or stopped – simply stopping or powering off a server does not pause billing. Public IP addresses are likewise billed for as long as they remain allocated to an account, even if they’re in a disassociated or detached state.
Resources are metered and prorated on an hourly basis, making it simple to scale up on demand while staying in control of your budget. These rates are clearly listed in the pricing table and applied automatically based on actual use.
For transparency and predictable expenses, make sure to delete servers, volumes, snapshots, and release any unneeded Public IP addresses when you are finished using them. This approach ensures customers only pay for what they allocate, providing flexibility and cost control with no hidden fees or surprise charges.
